Safe spaces are a necessity in this modern world for young people, especially girls. Access to information and a platform to share opinions without any form of judgement is required for a truly inclusive society. However, these are hard to come by especially in undeserved communities. Resources are thin and the political will to create such youth friendly spaces is poor.

This talk will share new approaches to understanding the challenges that exist when working towards creating a more inclusive society. We'll also discuss best practices and strategies to consider as we come up with possible solutions to those challenges.

Attendees will learn actionable steps on on how to create safe spaces within their communities where they can freely think, share and learn. Specifically focusing on creating these safe spaces both as physical spaces and in their online communities by applying key principles of engagement.
