Everyday we see how people are at the centre of news and digital content production in the media and journalism industry. This panel discussion will examine the merits of creating video content and presenting news to an audience from every angle that helps them relate with the stories.
News outlets are in a hurry to break stories and in the process forget the people who the news and stories are about. We take it further by looking at who is in the centre of the story, why and how did they become the main character in the story along with to give our audience something that helps them connect with these stories they hear and read every day.
We will discuss· the impact stories like this have on people and communities
· What support and materials are needed to bringing these stories to life
· The results that BBC and competitors have gained through audience engagement across Nigeria and beyond
In this session the panel will also be debate how various styles of reporting news can lead to increased female engagement and participation giving women and young people a louder voice; with content they enjoy consuming.

People will learn about the power of storytelling from a human perspective, this session will also help content and news providers see options they have in telling their stories and by extension discourage the spread of fake news which is a result of the competition within the news and content creation industry in a bid to deliver fresh perspectives.
