#SMWTechaholics a tech talk speakeasy event to get young, creative and savvy techpreneurs mentored by gurus in the evolving digital space. Techaholics event, hosted by @OnlineHubNG, follow a roundtable session format where industry influencers and thought leaders are asked questions revolving around the tech community in Nigeria, Africa and the rest of the World.

At the Social Media Week Lagos 2020 edition; the conversation will revolve around "Emerging Trends Shaping The Future of Work for Young People" as it relates to Nigeria's Technology Ecosystem.

Learning has evolved over the years and taking digital and technology into consideration is very critical. Open online courses and free online platforms now provide digital and easy access to learning and education for millions of people globally. So why must you need to memorize the 12 times table when you have a calculator, or when you can ask Google or Siri to give you the answer to 12 x 2400?

Learning, education or knowledge acquisition today is now on-demand as you need it and on-the-go, so why place so much emphasis on going to traditional and very expensive schools. The way we are learning today will drastically change tomorrow as people are no longer learning to acquire and store knowledge, but for skill and application in real-time on the go.

Human resource personnel and talent managers need to wake up to the reality of what’s coming and begin to develop strategies across businesses, governments and training/coaching providers to maximize the available opportunities for capitalizing on the transformational trends of the fourth Digital and Technological Industrial Revolution.

As it becomes crystal clear that the fourth digital technological revolution is shaping the trends in the evolving future of work, the question to ponder at #SMWTechaholics for Social Media Week Lagos 2020 edition, once again, is how to move forward. While a range of paths is possible, we cannot forget that we already have the tools & technology to make the change happen... Let's Explore!
